Mike, our president and CEO, and has managed a myriad of shipbuilding and ship repair disciplines in his 50+ years in the marine industry. He began his career as a labor electrician at Newport News Shipbuilding, and after serving a four-year apprenticeship in hull outfitting, received a series of promotions from foreman to ship and department superintendent. In 1981, he opened and ran a non-union manufacturing plant for NNS in Asheville, NC. As plant manager of this 500,000 square foot plant, his team refurbished components for nuclear submarines and manufactured electrical equipment and piping components for nuclear aircraft carriers.
In 1988, he returned to NNS as the director of manufacturing, later becoming the manager of production, planning and control for the submarine programs, and ultimately, the director of commercial construction. During his 28 years at NNS, he earned his B.S. from Old Dominion University and his MBA from William & Mary College. He left NNS in 1997 to become president of Tampa Bay Shipbuilding. In 2000, he became COO of International Marine and Industrial Applicators, Inc.; in 2001, he took over as president and CEO. Even though ownership has changed hands several times in the ensuing years, he continues as their president and CEO today. In 2003, he became a member of Ameriforce’s Board of Directors; subsequently, he was the chairman of the board in 2006 and 2007, and became president of the company in January 2008 until December 2011.

Ben holds an MBA certificate and is currently obtaining his master’s in executive level leadership – business management.
He has over 25 years of experience in the industrial and marine sector where he began his career as hazwoper, journeyman painter/blaster, technician, and foreman before moving up to regional management, and obtaining a position as vice president of operations.
He has worked in the oil and gas markets since the early 1990s for Shell and Chevron on the Gulf Coast, where he began his journey to leadership.
His expertise is in managing people and business development, along with overseeing the day-to-day operations, which is what sets him apart from other competitors.
In 2016, Ben joined Craft and Technical Solutions. With his background and knowledge, CTS has obtained many diverse clients seeking a professional and skilled workforce.
His business relationships and leadership are focused on providing customers with tailored solutions, and placing the right individual for the position.
